Fathia Macauley is the Chief Lending Officer for Housing Trust Silicon Valley, providing oversight for lending programs including multifamily, first-time homebuyer programs, and new lending initiatives. She joined the board of directors of Innovative Housing Opportunities (IHO) in 2023, bringing with her more than two decades of experience in financing and redevelopment projects throughout California, ranging from affordable housing to charter schools, community health clinics, faith-based facilities, and mixed-use developments.  

What is an affordable housing developer’s role in society? “To advocate for and create housing that is safe and affordable for families and individuals. I’d love to see more affordable housing developers help the public understand the term ‘affordable housing’.”
