Golden Circle is comprised of two separate mixed-use buildings that together make up a single, cutting-edge development known as The Living EmPower House. The Living EmPower House is designed to be the first mixed-income, mixed-use, and mixed-population community that is affordable, autonomous, and people-powered. Winner of the California Energy Commission’s EPIC Grant that awards innovative and scalable clean energy solutions, the project harnesses cutting edge technology and construction methods, smart design, and urban placemaking strategies to reimagine an underperforming office park in Santa Ana. The EmPower House is designed to empower residents to actively participate in decarbonization by taking advantage of natural heating and cooling, car-sharing, indoor/outdoor living, etc. without increasing rental costs. The project will incorporate neighborhood serving retail and commercial uses and house IHO’s corporate headquarters.
